Just wanted to pop in and give a little midsummer update about how things are going. We had a few home improvement projects happening in June and July that made any creative efforts difficult, so original content on the blog has been scant. I’ve finally got the mess down to a manageable state, and things are now returning to a more ‘normal’ schedule. Needless to say, I will soon be blogging about the whole experience for your enjoyment.
My latest release, Work of Art, is now up to nine 5-star reviews at Amazon, and I am hugely relieved. I must admit that I was a little apprehensive about this one. El Rey and The Welsh Healer are largely historical love stories, and this time around the mood is much, much darker. There is a fairytale romance at the core along with a rich and opulent setting, but the whole thing is overshadowed by a serial killer on the loose. Work on novel #4, which takes place during the US Civil War, will soon begin in earnest, but in the meantime I have been interviewed about Work of Art by two lovely ladies for two very different websites. The first article is hosted by Arleigh Johnson at Historical-Fiction.com. As the name indicates, Arleigh is more focused on the historical aspects of the book and her insightful questions reflect her preference. The spot also includes a giveaway of an ebook edition of Work of Art (Kindle or Nook) which can be entered simply by leaving a comment at the end of the post here.
The second date is an Author Spotlight hosted by Stephanie M. Neighbour at Chucklespace.com. This interview explores my motivation and the writing process. No giveaway this time, but I have to say that Stephanie asked some fabulous questions that made me stop and put some real thought into my answers. If you’re interested in the silliness, you can read that very entertaining interview here. While you’re there, I urge you to also read some of the regular posts by this funny and talented up-and-coming author. Keep an eye out for her debut slated to be released very soon.
As ever, thank you for your time and interest. I hope to have something new and compelling for you to peruse in the not too distant future.
