The month of December has been a very busy one for me. Along with preparing for the holiday, shoveling snow, and dealing with power outages, I also took on the task of formatting my books for paperbacks. Although by now I have developed a system, the first week of it was brutal. But as with giving birth to a child (and really, isn’t it just about the same thing?) as soon as I saw the end product of my efforts, all of the pain and frustration faded into the background. With most of the hard part behind me, The Welsh Healer, El Rey, and The Converso, should be available for sale by the middle of January. And as 2012 is now drawing to a close, I would like to take the time to reflect upon my blessings.
This has been a year to remember. It was filled with much aggravation, discovery, humility, and joy. I have learned much about myself and my family, and have stored away new experiences for future musings. And although a good portion of the past year was uneventful and meandered along in the same manner as any other in the past, the most memorable thing about it is the wealth of new friends I have made across the globe.
I have sold books in Spain and Portugal, Italy and France. I have connected with people from Canada, England, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the Czech Republic. I have a host of new acquaintances in India, Australia, Indonesia, and Japan. It is amazing to me that the world is so vast yet these people, with such varying interests and backgrounds, can have so much in common and come together over something as simple as a story.
So, I would like to thank you all for your interest and support. You are the reason that I continue to write and without you readers, there would be no point. I hope you have enjoyed my stories and reviews, and that I have helped you find something worth reading along the way. Here’s wishing you all the very best in the coming year. I look forward to sharing more with you in 2013.
